BIOGRAPHY
My background is in human resource management but, since retiring from my post the in the NHS, I have developed a keen interest in Torbay’s heritage. I am currently Chair of Paignton Heritage Society, a member of the Oldway Mansion and Grounds Steering Group and, for a number of years, a Trustee of Paignton Picture House.
Why do you volunteer as a Trustee for Paignton Picture House?
I was delighted to be invited to be a Trustee because the Picture House is a unique, iconic and interesting building and I believe, as we take forward its redevelopment, we have a real opportunity to provide a venue that will be an asset to the local community and valued by all who use it.
What are you most looking forward to when we open?
When we open, I am looking forward to talking to all those with fond memories of having visited the Picture House in the past and also welcoming people who have never been inside the building.
What is your favourite part of the building?
If I had to choose a favourite part of the Picture House – it would have to be the stained glass windows, as think they are just fabulous.
