Claire Horrocks

CINEMA DIRECTOR
Claire has nearly 20 years’ experience in film exhibition, programming and festivals. Most recently Film Programmer at Exeter Phoenix, she helped launch Studio 74, Exeter’s only independent cinema. Her work includes producing Two Short Nights Film Festival and Big Screen in the Park, managing Devon Film Office and supporting emerging filmmakers, including executive-producing more than 100 regional short films.

Ben Turner

OUTREACH AND AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Ben has more than 25 years’ experience bringing people together through the arts, working with communities in public spaces and unexpected places. His work spans organisations including Walk the Plank, Royal Exchange Theatre and Manchester International Festival, creating collaborative, storytelling-led projects with seldom-heard communities and people new to the arts.

Claire Petrie

MARKETING CONSULTANT
Claire is a marketing and communications specialist with over 20 years’ experience across theatre & the arts. Her work spans digital and immersive theatre, and experiential marketing, creating engaging campaigns and experiences that connect people with culture. Alongside her work in the arts, Claire is a qualified L3 PT Trainer and LiRF, with a passion for running, women’s fitness and community wellbeing.

Meet the Board of Trustees

IRIS BUTLER

ACTING CHAIR
With a background in human resource management, Iris developed a keen interest in Torbay’s heritage following her retirement from the NHS. She is Chair of Paignton Heritage Society, a member of the Oldway Mansion and Grounds Steering Group, and a long-standing Trustee of Paignton Picture House.
JUDY LANGRAF

TRUSTEE
Born in Torquay, Judy has lived in Torbay for most of her life. She spent 46 years working in banking, holding strategic roles specialising in business planning, financial management and helping struggling businesses return to financial health. Judy brings valuable business and financial expertise to her role as a Trustee of Paignton Picture House, alongside a strong commitment to preserving this historic local cinema.
CANDY VINCENT-SMITH

TRUSTEE
Candy has worked at STUDIOCANAL UK for over 15 years, following an early career in film PR and independent distribution. As Director of Catalogue Content and Editorial, she oversees content for the company’s extensive classic film library across cinema, home entertainment and streaming, as well as managing restorations, re-releases and special events spanning everything from Hitchcock and Hammer Horror to Paddington.
